Knowsley Hall Wedding

On Saturday 8th May we did Saif and Christine's wedding at Knowsley Hall. It was a gorgeous sunny day and everybody was in good spirits.

To greet the guests there was a red carpet finished off with 2 bay trees with white roses interspersed in them.

On either side of the registrars table there were floor standing candleabra decorated with a chunky collar of white and green flowers including roses, stocks, phlox, lilies, peonies and hanging amaranthus to name a few.

The aisle was lines with perspex plinths with flower heads threaded on to wire with white and green arrangements on the top complete with a chunky pillar candle. It looked gorgeous-very fairy tale.

The registrars table with floor standing candleabra on either side.

The dining room was brimming with flowers with candleabra table centres on each table, fireplace designs and arrangements on side tables.

Candleabra table centres with chunky collars of flowers around the arms and base of the design, linked with foliage. Here we have used a variety of white flowers including roses, stocks, phlox, peonies, lilies and lots of different foliage's to give a nice textured design.

The fireplaces were decorated with chunky garlands of flowers interspersed with candles.
I will update with photos of the bridal party very soon. Everybody had a fantastic day and it was fantastic to work with such a lovely couple. I wish them all the very best x

Shrigley Hall Wedding 4th April 2010

On Saturday 4th April we did the wedding flowers for the lovely Carina and Carl at Shrigley hall, Pott Shrigley, Cheshire. It was a fantastic afternoon with the sun shining on to the hall, it looked stunning.

For Carina's bouquet, she chose a hand tied design incorporating Schwartzwalder calla lilies, Akito roses, Lilac and white freesia, Deep purple and white tulips and Limonium finished with an aspidistra leaf secured with pearl pins.

For the top table design Carina didn't want anything too structured, we placed a combination of Eucalyptus and Soft ruscus with groupings of tulips along the top table.

To continue with the spring theme we used LSA goldfish bowls with deep purple and white tulips swirled inside with grass.

The wedding looked lovely and we will put the official photographs up when Carina and Carl return from their honeymoon.

Manchester Town Hall 27th March

We were lucky enough to do the wedding flowers for the lovely Kate and Rohit at Manchester Town Hall on Saturday 27th March, they were a lovely couple to work with.

Kate chose a beautiful compact, textured design of white flowers including white roses, white phlox, ranunculus, sweet peas, stocks and rosemary. The flowers smelt gorgeous!

For Rohit's buttonhole we incorporated a white rose with some rolled petals and a few pieces of phlox to compliment Kate's bouquet beautifully.

The cake flowers complimented the theme of the wedding with a simple white roses, phlox and rosemary design on the top tier of the cake.

In the Old Council Chamber where the wedding ceremony was held, they chose 2 floor standing candleabra, one for either side of the registrars table. These were then moved to either side of the top table for the wedding breakfast.

The table centres complimented the theme of white and brown beautifully with the cappuccino foliage rolled within the designs. The Great Hall at Manchester Town Hall worked really well with the tall candleabra, with such tall ceilings it looked beautiful.

The scent as you walked in to the room was fantastic, the stocks, phlox, maroussia roses all have heavy scents so they worked really well in such a large room.

We would like to wish Kate and Rohit all the best. we look forward to seeing the official pictures when they return from their honeymoon.

More than just flowers....

As you are aware here at The Flower Lounge we have a fantastic range of fresh flowers but did you know that we are much more than that...??
We try our very best to source a varied range of unusual vases and sculptures. With prices starting at £1.50 there's something for most tastes and budgets.
The silver lanterns are very popular, they can be used inside or out to give a subtle glow with candlelight.

Our fantastic 'hanging vases' by a Belgium company proved to be very popular and sold out within a few days. We are expecting another couple in later this week so watch this space.....

Our gorgeous range of Candles consist of 14oz glass jars, 6oz candle tins, reed diffusers and boxed sets of 3 votive candles are arriving soon. With fragrances such as White flowers, Fresh linen, Fig and herb, Baby powder and Tropical pineapple there's something for everybody.

These gorgeous individual 'birds nest' vases are lovely for Easter gifts. They are simple and only need one flower head in them so they don't break the bank to keep them looking lovely.

Our jewellery is made by a local designer and is made of silver and semi precious stones. The range includes Necklaces, Earrings and Bracelets and all come in lovely little gift boxes.

Winter Wedding

I would like to share some photos of Sally and Dave's winter wedding that we did at The Great John Street Hotel in December.

Their theme was aubergine so for Sally's bouquet we used Schwartzwalder calla lilies and Crystal Blush calla lilies for the adult bridesmaid. A siple calla lily wand was used for the flower girl.
The Great John Street Hotel is a gorgeous boutique hotel in Manchester so didn't need much in the way of venue dressing. We discussed a few ideas but then opted for an elegant candleabra in shades of purple and white.
Everybody looked gorgeous and the colours suited the hotel perfectly.
Congratulations to you both x
